Election 2008 – Communication triumphs and blunders

January 15, 2009

Event Type: Meeting

Date: Jan 15, 2009 - Jan 15, 2009

Location: Latham & Watkins LLP
885 Third Avenue
New York, NY 10022-4834

Hosted By: Metropolitan New York Chapter

The January program features three political experts sharing the successes and failures of the 2008 Presidential campaign communications.  With just five days before the Inauguration, this program could not be more timely.

Moderated by Joshua Peck of Duane Morris and Law Firm Media Professionals, the panel will discuss messaging, positioning and communicating – Obama and McCain (and Biden and Palin) style.  Joshua, former press secretary to a Congressional candidate, will be joined by Joel Benenson, a seasoned Democratic strategist with a pivotal role in the Obama campaign, and an equally senior Republican operative.  We will also discuss commercials, debate clips and other significant campaign moments.  The relevance to our lawyers is immense.  How they say things and what they say, to the media and other audiences, resonates with internal and external clients, prospects and industry.

Avail yourself of this offer by registering via email at least 48 hours in advance of the luncheon to our Financial Officer, Alissa Galford, at Alissa.galford@pillsburylaw.com.  Payment must be made at the door by cash or check (no credit cards) payable to NYLMA.  (Cash payments will receive a receipt.)  We apologize that walk-in registrations cannot be accommodated; you must register in advance and via email to Alissa (not through the online system).

So, please join us for an insider's debriefing of Election 2008 and what we as marketers and business development professionals can learn from it.  And if you are unemployed, please take advantage of our special offer – and forward this to your friends and colleagues who may be similarly situated.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
