Practice Marketing, Fall 2008

We are excited to bring to you our Fall issue of our Chapter e-newsletter. As summer comes to an end, we're proud of all of the accomplishments from this past year and look forward to a stellar program line-up that will round out the 2008 calendar year. Inside this issue, our Feature Article describes the hot topic of Social Networking. If you have news items to share, or story ideas for future newsletters, please contact Vonny Chiu at vchiu@hunton.com or Rebecca Edwards at redwards@hf-law.com.

Upcoming Programs
Don't forget to RSVP for our September 9th program, "Do You Know What Success Looks Like? Marketing Plans and ROI" at Virginia Crossings Resort. Speaker, Jayne Navarre, web strategist and managing director of LawGravity.com, will guide attendees through the steps of creating a plan, an accompanying budget, and tracking methods. Attendees will take away templates and helpful handouts on plotting goals, strategies, objectives, tactics, related expenditures, and staff resources.

Finally, don't miss out on our October event! Holiday Corporate Gifts Tradeshow - This unique luncheon features a mini-trade show with doors opening at 11:00 a.m. and extending until 2:00 p.m. The event is on October 14th at Virginia Crossings, and we have secured a larger space for this extravaganza. 10 vendors will set up outside of the presentation area to introduce client gift ideas just in time for the holidays. Some vendors include Cookies by Design and the Supply Room Co. Thar's Gold in Them Hills: Mastering the Art and Sciences of Cross-Selling - Program speaker, David Freeman, Founder and CEO of David Freeman Consulting Group, LLC, will discuss how we can correctly use cross-selling as the fastest and most effective way to build a business and enhance client retention.

The Hampton Roads City Group meets monthly as well, and program topics include Web 2.0, Martindale Hubbell's alumni network, and PR tips. Check out the newsletter for more details.
